Overview

One of the most desirable facial features on any man or woman is a well-defined chin and jawline. Balance, or facial harmony, creates a sense of continuity and flow, and it divides the face into equal thirds of the brow, mid-face, and the jaw line. A poorly defined neck or jawline can appear less attractive than one that is well-defined. Submental fullness, commonly referred to as a “double chin,” is a common facial aesthetic condition that can impact both women and men. It can result from aging, genetics, or weight gain. For some individuals, the condition will have no chance of disappearing no matter how much they diet or exercise. Using Kybella injections, the Houston MedSpa of triple board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Henry Mentz, helps patients eliminate the fat cells under their chin for a better defined chin and jaw.

Procedure Technique

The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid which helps break down fat cells. When Kybella is injected below the chin, it will destroy the fat cells, and these cells will not be able to collect or store fat once destroyed. However, if the patient gains weight after a Kybella treatment, the remaining fat cells will expand for diminished results.
