In early 2021, Newsweek magazine and global data research firm Statista announced their joint collaboration on a first-ever national survey of peers to determine who are America’s best plastic surgeons.
In Search of The Top 2.5 Percent Of All Plastic Surgeons in America
As there are well more than 8,000 board-certified plastic surgeons in the United States, any surgeon making it onto these lists in any position would automatically qualify as being in the top 2 ½ percent of board-certified plastic surgeons for these procedures, with those at the highest end of the rankings being the top 1 percent of plastic surgeons in the United States.
Newsweek invited thousands of medical professionals and other board-certified plastic surgeons from across the nation to take part in the survey and over the next two months received more than 5,000 recommendations.
The Best Surgeons for the Most Popular Plastic Surgeries
These peer recommendations were then ranked in four categories, covering the most sought-after plastic surgery procedures within the U.S. and abroad:
Newsweek/Statista then revealed the top 200 breast augmentation surgeons and the top 150 plastic surgeons in each of the other three categories.
