Excess skin can develop on the inner and outer thighs after significant weight loss, from natural aging, genetics, or other factors. This loose, sagging skin can be removed with a thigh lift surgery, also known as a thighplasty.
Recovery
After the thigh lift is complete, the area will be covered in surgical dressings and a compression garment may be used to promote healing. Patients will have bruising, swelling, and some discomfort for the first 2 weeks after their surgery, but after this they may begin light activity. Patients should not try strenuous activity, like heavy lifting and running, until 6-8 weeks after their surgery.
